Good morning. I seem to have recovered from the long drives and heat of the last few days. The cooler change moved through yesterday and last night it was uncomfortably cool - such a contrast. But it made it easier to sleep. A few stratocumulus clouds this morning - well it seems now we have [...]

Been out of action for the past couple of days but had an excellent storm chase on the 27th November. You can get a better description here

Today it seems like a hot start and then cooling down later I hope. I am on top of the world with that 5cm hail embedded in my brain!

Very tired this morning after the third night of storm and lightning chasing. Didn’t get home till 12.50am after Rodney and I were treated to an amazing display of lightning in the Clarence Valley. We had a beautiful spot beside the Clarence River at Lawrence - awesome !
This follows the amazing show on Sunday night [...]

Overcast with oppressive humidity so far today. Storms should start to fire along the ranges and then hopefully closer for an afternoon chase here.
Yesterday was a long chase with Rodney and Greg Spencer (visiting from WA) with lightning persisting well into this morning. Very tired due to lack of sleep, but can’t complain with over 100 [...]

Great you had a good time at the ASWA meeting.
It was quite hot down here yesterday and a reminder of the smoke haze coming over during the afternoon and evening. Southerly change passed through overnight making this morning overcast. I was thinking of going for a chase today but again time beat me and risk [...]

Friday’s chase was great. Saw a spectacular severe pulse storm go up on the QLD border just north of Tenterfield. Saw the entire lifecycle of this storm which was great. Moved a bit closer to Wallangarra where a mid level funnel revealed itself! Activity did not last long with one more very strong pulse storm [...]

Hi Michael,
Hope you got those storms yesterday. Down here there was low cloud and some rainfall in some areas - not here though - bone dry.
Today the atmosphere shows a teasing situation - do I drive 3 hours for a chase up north - it seems there is sufficient moisture and instability for something to [...]

Yesterday was a dud for weather up here. Brisbane sounding revealed extremely dry air above 900 - no wonder nothing formed, except one shower busted through near Bellingen about 4pm. Today the low level moisture is much better and I expect some scattered cells mainly on the Northern Tablelands. Very likely to chase after I [...]

Cooler morning and cloudy. And at least it seems there is some moisture evident. Well the moisture is in the form of cloud though not rain. There are prospects of rain next Tuesday and perhaps a few patches over the weekend. The inland is extremely hot though and the heat can at any time be [...]

Michael, I forgot to make mention about that gallery project. It was a major undertaking with your programming playing a vital role in the success of the project. See for yourselves:
