Michael,
I guess it is obvious by now that instability will be around for several days across various regions of NSW. Moisture finally has made its move and this will be inland after today.
As to photographs from 29th December, they are not impressive given the lack of opportunities. But the structure in the distance was decent [...]

Good stuff Jimmy ! Looking forward to see the photos from the 29th too. As expected, no sign of any storm activity in NE NSW but it was a very pleasant day weatherwise. My brother and his son were over, and my brother-in-law and his two kids were here too for some of the day. [...]

Well Michael,
Got a storm yesterday. Small hail as well as the storm ending with impressive loud thunder! I will post some pictures in the forum at some stage.
Today will be a better day but the run continues to early next week at this point in time.

Yes the cloud band persisting is interesting. What is more interesting will be the injection of moisture over the next few days beginning from today. I guess it is modest today but at least there is a possibility of some storms venbturing gradually into Sydney tomorrow.
I had a nice sunrise this morning with the sun [...]

Hi Jimmy - amazingly the cloud band is still over us - almost three full days now. It should clear later today which will be nice as the past two days have been just 21 degrees - way below normal for this time of year.
Certainly some interest on the charts again finally. Apart from the [...]

Michael,
It was cool Christmas evening here but yesterday seemed a fine mild to warm day. What we require now as soon as possible is moisture return which is anticipated to occur. There should be a few days of storm chasing opportunities in the coming week - we’ll see how it pans out!
Did a bit of video [...]

Mid level cloud band is still persisting this morning - that’s now about 40 hours or so with altostratus. Fairly unusual for this part of the world. And quite cold too with only 21 Boxing Day !
Weather continues to look rather ordinary for the Northern Rivers for the next few days. Might do a longer [...]

Michael,
We had Christmas visit with the relatives as was usual and then we headed to the club. I quiet time had overall.
We felt a slight impact of the cold air last night. Dew points were pretty low such that this morning, the scenery seemed crystal clear. Great you had some lightning to look at:) Our [...]

Hi Jimmy - yes - had a nice Christmas day though only nine of us at Mum and Dad’s :)
That 200 CAPE managed to produced some weak cells that became lightning active SE of Evans Heads. Some other activity tried to develop right here but only some showers and no more thunderstorm activity. Was plenty [...]

Michael,
Cooler drier day today - another 9mm total from yesterday and last night. We are at the bottom edge of the cloud mass.
Not much happening here for Christmas - Geoff may come over briefly then we head over to meet relatives who will have a packed house I understand. Just like yours will be:)
Jimmy
