Hi Jimmy,
Might just see some convection in the Northern Rivers today - mainly in the south - and perhaps extending along the ranges towards the QLD border. Shear will mostly direct storms towards the ESE or east which is not ideal unless you can chase into the Clarence - which I can’t today given its Christmas [...]

Michael,

Great to see some rain overnight! 5.0mm in fact. And it looks more is on the way.
Christmas Eve and the rest of the period should be a quiet one. Still thinking whether travelling north is the way to go given the cold snap down south tomorrow. If I don’t see you, may you and your [...]

Michael,
It was yet another muggy night where sleeping conditions were terrible. The temperature once again I suspect rose during the night as the elevated layer of air advected to the surface.
Yes there is the potential for late thunderstorms inland but obviously outflow dominant. Perhaps some good lightning activity.

Hi Jimmy - yes would be great to have finished with teaching for the year. Yesterday Al did the last of the shopping then Rodney came over later for pizza and a movie.
Some storm chasing potential today in parts of the state but nothing up this way, perhaps tomorrow bit of a chance if it [...]

Michael,
Gosh it is nice to wake up and feel great by not having to go to work. And there is a possibility of storms today along the tablelands.

Hi Jimmy - yeah that section was a culmination of a few ideas I’ve had but not got around to finishing off until now.
I like the look of the satpics and the setup today for parts of central eastern NSW. Hope you get a good chase in after work!   Speaking of work, we had a [...]

Hi Michael,
I looked at your new design for timelapses and I am astonished at the new concept! Well done! Certainly makes things easier for visitors to look at archives.
Woke up this morning to an unsettled sky - instability all around. There should be some form of thunderstorm activity in the near vicinity! This is the [...]

Hi Jimmy - been doing a stack of brushcutter work today after I finally got it fixed. Everything looks neat and tidy for the expected Christmas visitors.
A very pleasant day with small cu and cirrostratus increasing now. Temp getting up to about 28 with DP about 13-14 which is still below normal for here.
I’ve finished [...]

Hi Michael,
What a glorious day today. Stratocumulus cover although you get the distinct impression that there could be convective rain passing over later. I wish the models were updated this morning as it would have made decisions easier:)
Today and tomorrow there seems to be the potential of storms but winds once again are on the [...]

Hi Jimmy - boy you are busy with the Christmas celebrations - no more for me until Monday now (I think). Will be in Ballina at my parent’s place for Christmas Day. Looking at the last GFS run this morning and you would expect some wild weather around that day. EC however has things dried [...]
