Michael,
Second day at school was pathetic in terms of conditions - no air-conditioning and a lack of ventilation made conditions this morning awful and normally don’t complain about the heat. Cooler conditions prevailed outside and this evening, drizzle patches are developing.
Saturday still looks decent for storm action - we’ll see.

Hi Jimmy, overnight min temp was 23 which is the highest I’ve recorded this summer. The dew point pretty well has been 22/23 for the past 24 hours, though is spiking at 25 this morning - very steamy and sticky. Should be storms today but the shear seems worse than yesterday so we’ll have to [...]

Michael,
Storms will fire in your area over the next 4 days. Winds aloft not the mot favourable but storms nonetheless.
Our best chance is Saturday at this point with some wind shear and upper cooling. We’ll see.
Otherwise today has been a hot one and reasonably muggy.

Hi Jimmy - no signs of Autumn here with all overnight mins above 20 of late - which is fairly normal at this time of year and something that has been absent most of the summer - a summer with well below normal temps for the Northern Rivers.
I see some storms fired up pre dawn [...]

Michael,
Yes it seemed that the setup to me was not good - I am glad did not waste a day up that way.
Finally a cool night here - hint of autumn? Too far from that at this point. Totally clear skies.
Tonight we are going to suprise our overseas visitors with a dinner at Blacktown RSL [...]

Hi Jimmy - yesterday was an endurance with the heat and humidity and thankfully today is only about 28. Didn’t do too much yesterday, just took it easy. Some weak storms tried to develop but not even SE QLD managed to fire up.
Today have been mostly gardening. Cricket is on now so watching that, and [...]

Michael,
Very impressive storms I must say and great action given the carnage you guys found! Very photogenic as well.
We found a storm and it seemed to survive for some time and had a decent anvil at some points but as it approached Kempsey, lightning activity dropped and so did the intensity. I think at most [...]

Michael,
Great you got that chase in - take whatever comes during this season. Poor Katrina - she’s got that storm chasing bug:)
We have another chase possibility today - worth the trip I suppose. January has been quite busy and despite the shear some decent opportunities. The rest of the family are off for Australia Day [...]

Hi Jimmy - finally got a chase is as well - though very rushed in the end. Katrina was a bit dissappointed I did not wait for her to get home from ANOTHER shopping trip, but if I had, would have missed most of the storm :) Bit of a chance for more today, though [...]
