Michael,
A 747 crash in Australia would be unprecedented? We have had other smaller air travel related accidents obviously. You can probably tell me more details later in a phone call.
Yes tank water during the dry spells will cause an issue. I guess you’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t use water to flush [...]

Hi Jimmy, AGM was a great event again and awesome to catch up with so many interstaters including Dann, Matt and James. The presentations at the conference were of a very high standard. The most fascinating one was by Tuan Phan from the Bureau of Meteorology who works at Sydney Airport. A Qantas 747 came [...]

Michael,
I will hold your word for more thunderstorms than last season and increased rainfall - no turning back now! Mate that is a forecast - give it a go is all that matters:)
Katrina in year 10 - goodness we must be getting old. Regardless of the unfortunate strong winds, I guess being down in the [...]

Michael,
A lenticularis veil dominates the sky today with moderate westerly winds. High based clouds with no hints of lower level clouds says it all - dry! I don’t think it will be long when the undergrowth dries out and bushfire dangers will be on the rise. The temperatures have been mild though not warm. So [...]

Hi Jimmy - still some bushfires around but they are fairly minor at this stage with no property under threat. Guess it will only take a couple of high 20 C days and strong westerly to cause havoc. No rain for 6 weeks straight on top of the rest of the year being dry. The [...]

Michael,
Absolutely no smoke here this year - obviously the recent heavy rains in June make it still moist given it is still winter and just entering spring. Up in northeast New South Wales and southeast Queensland, it is a different story! Still very dry. The temperatures are beginning to rise and even the latest cooler [...]

Hi Jimmy, mild boring days continue here with no rain. Plenty of bushfire smoke about, though not much right here at my place with the winds steering the haze elsewhere so far. Mornings are back to frosty in the valley though of course nowhere near freezing up here on the hill.
Been adding modules and fine [...]

Michael,
It has been hectic yet again with a few things on. Mostly though I have been playing around with the website stuff of course. It looks as though you have been doing some research as well - hope you find some workable solutions for the photography section.
Weatherwise, typical boring sunny days though we did have [...]

After 29 on Thursday and 28 yesterday, the weather seems to be back to ‘normal’ for August with a temp of about 20 expected. A weakening cloud band is over the area so it’s a gloomy start. Even a few spits of rain, though that will not last ! Have to keep looking at extended [...]
