Tuesday 30th December could not have turned out much better than it did. A classic supercell evolved between Casino and Lismore before tracking over the eastern parts of Lismore, my place at McLeans Ridges then off the coast north of Byron Bay. The structure was incredible. CAPE was calculated at 4000 from the Casino obs [...]

Hi Jimmy,  been a busy week of storms yet again. Was great to catch up with you Imelda and Kimberley on Boxing Day and glad you’ve managed to track down some storms :)   Certainly been a mixed week for emotions there, some highs with the terrific storms locally but also sadness with the death of my [...]

Storm November 16 Lightning and Severe Storms

Hi Jimmy - been a very hectic past 10 days or so with the major thunderstorm events in SE QLD and parts of NSW, but with Brisbane copping the worst a few times.  I think I must have done about 100 hours work with EWN last week LOL  - been enjoyable but quite tiring. It [...]

Hi Jimmy - the high school workplace can be quite wild. Don’t think I would be suited to that environment at all.
Been showery here the past couple of days though not big rainfall totals - just a few mm each day. The cumulus has been quite large and it’s quite photogenic in the late afternoon. Thunder [...]

Yeah good idea putting a link from Red Bubble in here - these are some of the photos I have in my calendar:

Tell you what Jimmy - have to say again I’m getting really sick of the lack of storms this season. Another half-arsed event Saturday night with a couple of bolts, though it did [...]

Hi Jimmy - I didn’t have a bet and only just caught some of the race. One of the disadvantages of working from home is the lack of social activities.
Getting disappointed with this storm season. The events that have occurred have been significant but there are just too few thunderstorm days. Has to be unusual [...]

LOL - classic commentary there. I have to point out to readers that is not my voice - I am the silent driver during that destructive hailstorm south of Casino, NSW in late 2004. More info can be found here:

Hi Jimmy,
The season is reasonably active though it’s been a struggle to get the moisture back into NSW on a few occasions. Events when they do occur continue to be fairly significant. Last Tuesday brought major hailstorms to the Coffs Harbour region with scattered storms also with hail throughout the Northern Rivers and Brisbane area. [...]

Hi Jimmy - Great you (and the family) have been able to get out and into some of the inland NSW action of late. The pickings have been rather sparse elsewhere making for a dissapointing October so far. Haven’t been able to chase since the Sep 20-21 events. Some decent storms did develop on Wednesday with [...]

Hi Jimmy,
Well already nearly a week since you and Imelda were married. It was a beautiful occasion and great Alison and I had the opportunity to be part of it. Imelda and Kimberley looked amazing - you must be so proud. The reception centre was very nice - must have cost a few bucks !!
Hopefully [...]
